As this New Year begins, Direct Flooring has just come back from the LARGEST event in the Flooring Industry - TISE Surface Event. This event does an incredible job promoting everything that is involved with the flooring business. From the manufacturers - to the retailers, designers, installers, and any trade professional that works with the flooring industry.
The Manufacturing trends continue to move strongly for waterproof, resilient flooring. Waterproof LVP, WPC, Hardwoods, Laminates, Tiles and more are becoming the consumers first choice for floors that will look great and last for many years. Technology in the production has these products looking and feeling almost identical to sold hardwoods and natural stone.
The Retail trends are seeing AI as a tool, rather than an obstacle. Harnessing this new technology in circumstances that will allow the retailers to provide faster and better all around service to their end users. It was also discussed around the retailers, that promotion of better sales techniques and training employees will also yield the best customer experience.
And of course... Designers are always highly represented at the Surfaces Event. Design trends this year are seeing more resilient surfaces - focused on luxury vinyl & tile surfaces. Both products are keeping coloring mid-range and cool tones. The lighter tones, earth tones, and cool tones (think sky blue) are definitely the trend for 2026!
